I can't believe it has been almost 5 months since my last post....but, life has just been so busy (and I am trying to enjoy every moment) that I just haven't had time to blog as much as I would like.
We had a wonderful 1st Christmas with Kaden. He got a Jeep from Daddy and a recordable book from Mommy! He received tons of toys and clothes from our friends and families. We are very fortunate to have such great families.
As for New Year's eve, we had everyone to our house for the traditional New Year's Eve party! We had lots of good food, competitive games, watching football and waiting for the ball to drop. Kaden didn't quite make it to midnight....but, at least we were home and he was asleep in his bed.
Then came Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day (hopefully I can post some pictures soon). And - this past weekend was Easter! We had lots of fun and took lots of pictures. He had his pictures made with baby chicks a few weeks ago and they are posted on Facebook under JA Designs and Photography. They are adorable....if I say so myself! :)
Kaden still stays with my mom most days and he loves it! I am so thankful for all both of our parents do for us!
Before spring break, my sister Holly married her fiance Adam. It was such a beautiful wedding and we all had a great time! Kaden was able to see lots of family and show off some of his dancing moves! We had such a great time and are very thankful for the addition of Adam to our family!
For Spring Break, we went to Gatlinburg with Jason, Jill, Jase, Jax, and Mike. We always have fun hanging around the pool/hot tub and going shopping. It was a nice break from school and work. Kaden, however, did not have a good Spring Break. He had an ear infection before we left for Gatlinburg and I thought he was over it a few days before we left. The second night we were there, he ran a temperature of 101-102 and of course I was on the phone with the Doctor's office. We gave him medicine and tried to keep him cool and the temperature eventually came back down, but there were a few nights when something was bothering him in the middle of the night -- because we were up most of the night! It was a little bitter sweet - I am not happy that he got sick at all...but, I am very happy that it happened during spring break, while I was off and could stay up all night and take it easy the next day.
As for Kaden, he is now 8 1/2 months old. I can't believe that he is getting close to the 1 year mark. He is crawling around and pulling up (sometimes). He can stand in his crib and make his way all the way around the sides. Its crazy how fast they learn stuff. he is still eating baby food and milk.
He wakes up around 7:00 every morning, eats breakfast (cereal and milk) around 8:00 or 8:30, then sleeps from 9:30 or so until 11:00. He has lunch (some type of vegetable or fruit and a bottle-- most days both!) around 12:00 or 12:30, then usually falls asleep around 2:45 or 3:00 and sleeps for another hour. Dinner is usually around 5:30 or 6:00 (usually sweet potatoes or another vegetable) and another bottle of milk. Finally around 8:30 or 9:00 he has a bath and his last bottle and goes to sleep for the night. He usually drinks Apple juice throughout the day.
We haven't tried any 'real' food with him yet....except Daddy gives him ice cream, whip cream, pudding, etc....and he has had mashed potatoes. Hopefully in the next few weeks, we will start to add some more foods.
Kaden's bottom two teeth have come in....with not a really huge problem. Now his upper teeth are coming in, but not the two front teeth.....his two teeth to the sides of the two front teeth are coming in. he is having a little bit more trouble with these. He chews on EVERYTHING! He has even started chewing on his own thumbs. He doesn't really act like the hurt, he just keeps biting everything. He drools a lot, but it is so cute to see his little smile with those two bottom teeth and just the tips of his top ones poking through.
As for everything else that has taken place the last 5 months, I will try to post some pictures later that can tell the story!
